First, let’s break Synfo down into its constituent parts: the basic access areas and the Synfo Plus areas (available to all subscribers to The Yacht Report).

  • Do you already have a synfo user login?

    • Yes, I do have a Synfo user login:
    • Enter your username and password in the boxes at the top of the screen and click on 'Login'.


      • If you have forgotten your login details, click on the 'Forgotten login details?' link.
        This will open a pop-up window asking for your email address as pictured below.



    No, I don't have a Synfo user login:
    • Click the on 'Register' button at the top of the screen.

  • To update your account details:
    • Click on the 'My Synfo Account' link from menu on the left-hand side under the section 'Synfo Management'.


    • Update any details as necessary and click on 'Submit'

  • Click on the 'Company Profile Login' button at the top of the page.
  • Do you already have a company profile on synfo?

    • Yes, I do have a company profile:
    • Enter your company profile username and password and then click on 'Login'.
      (The login to your profile page may be different to your Synfo.com user login.)


      • If you have forgotten your login details, click on the 'request Company profile username and password' link:

        This will create an email to our support team.
        Please add your company name and address to the email.

    No, I don't have a company profile:
    • Click on 'Add a new Company Profile here' and create your new company profile.

  • Log in to your Company Profile.

  • Click on the 'Company Details' tab and then scroll down to the posting you wish to change.
    Click on the job/course/product title on the left:



    This takes you into the edit area.
    Update or delete as necessary and save your changes.

  • To search for a yacht:
    • Enter the yacht name in the box at the top of the screen.


    • Click on 'Search'.
    • If no results are found, try searching again with different criteria.

  • On Screen Facilities:
    • Click on a letter to list vessels starting with that letter.
    • Click on the table column headings to re-order the table contents.
      Click on the table column again to re-order the table contents in the opposite direction.
    • To drill down/search, click on a value in the table, choose whether to search within the current Vessel List ('current list') or search within full database ('All Vessels').
    • To view the Vessel Details, click on the Vessel Name in the table.


    • Below the table is an indicator of the search criteria being implemented.

  • To perform an advanced search:
    • Select 'Advanced Search' from the 'Yacht Register' menu.


    • Enter the criteria against the respective field names.
    • For text fields, enter all or part of the criteria in the 'Contains' box
      OR select a letter from the 'Starts With' drop-down box and then select the exact value from the adjacent drop-down box.
    • For numeric fields, choose 'Equals', Greater Than', 'Less Than' or 'Between' and then enter the value in the adjacent box.
    • Then click on the 'Search >>' button.

  • On Screen Facilities:
    • Click on the images to enlarge them.
    • Click on the video to start playing.
    • Click on the highlighted text to display all yachts with this detail.
    • To open a new page showing a printable report of the yacht details, click on 'Detail Report >>'.
    • To view details of the builder for this yacht, click on 'Builder Details >>'.
    • To view the history of changes for this yacht, click on 'History >>'.
    • To update any details for this yacht, click on 'Send Update >>'.

  • To search for a builder:
    • Select 'Builder Search' from the 'Yacht Register' menu.


    • Click on a letter to list builders starting with that letter.
    • Or enter the builder name (or part of the name) and click on 'Search >>'.


    • Click on 'View Details' to view the contact and vessel details for that builder.
    • Click on 'List Vls' to list the vessels by that builder.

  • To change the display of the yacht list:
    • Select 'Change Current Display' from the 'Yacht Register' menu.


    • To add fields, click on the fields in the left-hand list(hold down shift to select multiple fields) and then click on the Right Arrow or Double-Click on the field(s) to add them.
    • To remove fields, click on the field(s) in the right-hand list and then click on the Left Arrow or Double-Click on the fields to remove them.
    • When you have finished adding/removing fields, click on 'Add Change >>'

  • To sort the yacht list:
    • Select 'Sort Yacht List' from the 'Yacht Register' menu.


    • To add sort fields, click on the fields in the left-hand list (hold down shift to select multiple fields) and then click on the Right Arrow or Double-Click on the field(s) to add them.
    • To remove fields, click on the field(s) in the right-hand list and then click on the Left Arrow or Double-Click on the fields to remove them.
    • To change the sort sequence to Ascending/Descending, Double-Click ASC or DESC against the required field name on the far right.
    • When you have finished adding/removing fields, click on 'Order Vessel List >>'

  • On Screen Facilities:
    • Use the 'Click Here' link to list all vessels in the Global Order Book.
    • Use the drop-down list of builders to list new orders for a particular builder. Click on 'List'.
    • Click on a letter or number to list vessels starting with that letter/number.
    • Click on the table column headings to re-order the table contents.
      Click on the table column again to re-order the table contents in the opposite direction.

SynfoTV is one of our hottest new media and even better: anyone can submit footage, we only ask it is relevant to superyachts. The below gives an outline of the categories we currently host, but this is an ever-expanding project and we welcome footage from all areas, although the more crew-focused videos can be found on our sister website Yotcru.com.
If there is any area of the industry you want to learn more about, the chances are we will have an audio visual representation on SynfoTV. After all, if a “picture paints a thousand words” imagine the message you can convey here.

    • It is often hard to understand exactly what any one piece of equipment does on board or to convey the benefits it can offer. Which is why we have an open equipment section whereby you can see or send us your equipment videos/demonstrations.
