Until now, a lack of specific technical expertise, the development costs, and the specific requirements which such a top on a motorboat must comply with prevented shipbuilding yards from offering a full-fledged convertible solution. That is why GTE Technical Engineering, and the Linskens Shipyard both based in the Netherlands, decided to try a completely different approach. Convinced that cooperation would benefit them both, they decided to pool their specific expertise in the areas of technical engineering and shipbuilding with the goal of developing an affordable convertible top that would be within reach of the entire sector. After all, this would be the only possible way of recovering the initial development and production costs and ensuring that the CapeLine can be developed further rapidly in the future.

Can be integrated in the design of every motor yacht
The unique and innovative aspect of the CapeLine is that it can span a relatively large distance in combination with a large quantity of fabric while ensuring that the entire system will move smoothly and reliably regardless of the conditions on the water. The convertible concept consists of a fully automatic top completely integrated into the design of a motor yacht still to be built. CapeLine then produces the fully customized convertible top from sea-water-resistant components and supplies it to the boat builder in the form of a complete turnkey solution. After delivery is taken of the motor yacht, CapeLine remains responsible for all guarantee and service-related issues concerning the convertible top. The CapeLine is available with various colours of canvas outer lining, thereby retaining the high-quality image of the motor yacht. The tops are also available with fully insulated inner lining, guaranteeing optimum comfort on cold days. Of course, the CapeLine is very user-friendly, and it is also fitted with a backup option ensuring that the top can be closed even in case of emergency.
