Van Geest Design has released details and images of their latest superyacht design concept, a 85m vessel that contains two principal aspects; crisp contemporary lines and an open air lifestyle. The yacht will have four decks, with a plumb bow and a low superstructure used to give the yacht a balanced look. To deliver the design aim of outside lifetsyle the vessel's transom has been cut open to the water level, thus allowing passengers to relax in the immediate vicinity of the water.
The beach
cabin at water level can be used when at anchor while the other luxury main cabin (on
the main deck) can be used while underway, thus giving the yacht's owner access to a veritable summer and winter
suite. The beach cabin can be closed by watertight doors, for peace of
mind and safety. At sea, the main deck functions as the owner’s
stateroom including offices and large reception areas. The aft part is
the main entertaining area, both inside and outside, giving access to
the open transom.
Internally, the superyacht will have two owner staterooms. The crew and services are located on the lower deck
forward, while the guest cabins are situated aft. Dedicated bays for tenders and toys are between the
beach cabin and the engine room. These bays are joined by technical
spaces for engineers to service and control the engine room.
The
wheelhouse and navigation areas of the yacht are located forward, on
the bridge deck, while a panoramic lounge and exterior entertaining are
aft. The main sunbathing area with a jacuzzi and exterior dining space
has a full 360 degree panoramic view, located on the sundeck.
