Aegean Yacht has this month announced the launch of its latest flagship, the 57m schooner SY Montigne. The superyacht is the heir to the famous 50m SY Galileo. She has been built to RINA and MCA standards, and is reportedly the largest superyacht of her class to have been built in Turkey.

Sinan Ozer, Aegean Yacht’s owner and CEO, chose to work with an international team of project managers and supervisors for the two year duration of this project. Montigne’s aft deck offers 110 m² of space for al fresco dining and lounging, and elegant and the sundeck offers uncluttered views with large Jacuzzi and a foredeck which holds an array of water toys. The aft deck dining table seats 12 guests and includes a turntable. The table and all the furniture on board were designed and detailed by Aegean Yacht.

Other features include a ’wet feet’ service bar and a fully equipped original Teppanyaki grill and 40m² of deck space covered with soft cushions. The sundeck offers 135 m² of high quality teak decking and is accessed by some stairs from the main deck. The modern mast, boom and rigging have allowed he builders to create an enormous space for guests to sunbathe and party. Montigne will be easily recognized from a distance, there is a dramatic looking golden Dragon placed on the bow and two brightly colored Dragons on the transom. According to Aegean Yachts these three celestial Dragons symbolize the power of the yacht and at the same time protect her from evil spirits.

At the Owner’s request, the salon on the main deck features an illuminated piece of artwork depicting an oriental scene relating to the story of the three dragons. Right in front of the entrance there is a massive sculpture of the legendary Dragon Boat, the artwork was completed from a single piece of wood and decorated with fanciful carvings. In the 80 m² salon there is a large rectangular dining table for 12 guests, a grand piano, and two separate sitting areas.

Montigne can accommodate 12 guests in six large staterooms, all furnished in cherry and all equipped with en-suite bathrooms, finished in inlaid marble. Each of the guests’ staterooms is located below deck. There is a master suite of 60 m² at the aft, and a VIP cabin of practically the same size forward. Forward on the ship, an originally shaped double guest stateroom of 35m², and two more double and two triple cabins of 20 m² each. The full beam master suite has a separate section equipped with special SPA facilities. There is an elegant sitting area and a study, and a luxurious en-suite bathroom with a bath and marble shower.

Montigne is powered by twin 760hp MAN engines, offers a range of 1800 nautical miles and 12 knots top speed. Aegean Yacht has built over 40 motoryachts and motor sailors to date, each full customised to the owner’s requirements.
